Well, It Could Be Worse

Her mom could've had no warning
that the lord may call her soon
leaving her family to ask
Why didn't we say this?
Why didn't we do that?

Now she has a chance to say the things she
wants her mom to know and ask
the questions she always wanted to
You best believe as soon as she and her mom
find the time she will pepper her with the questions
only a mom can answer
Well, it could be worse

Her mom might not have had the chance to
make memories that she and her loved ones
will hold close to their hearts for the rest of their lives
Memories she'll wrap herself in like a blanket
on a cold dark and lonely night
if God must call for her

Even though she admits she's asked
God more than once
Why my mom, why now
doesn't she deserve to have
many more years of happiness ?
Well, it could be worse

She could turn her back on her faith and
the lord she grew to love
Falling into a darkness she sank into before
The truth is He was there when she needed Him and
He brought her into the light
She knows He'll be there when she needs Him again

She hopes this poem will show all its readers
no matter what you're going through
There's always someone who isn't as
fortunate as you
So, before your spirit falls to low
just say well, it could be worse
