The Call You Never Want

You know the information you get in the call about your loved one could change all of your lives forever
It will test your faith
God please hold my heart together
I desperately don't want it to break
That cancer has spread to her brain
Why God, why

Clean Slate

Each day He grants us forgiveness
Forgiveness some of us feel we don't deserve
Yet He still shows us grace beyond measure

Like most I've been the one to withhold forgiveness at times
Yet He has shown His daughter she cannot withhold the gift He's so graciously given to her more times than she can count
She's recently been reminded that forgiveness is not something earned it is something given
To all I've withheld this gift from I'd like to say I'm sorry
I want to start with a clean slate letting everyone know
I love you and there's nothing you could ever do or say to ever make me stop

I hope the words of this poem will inspire all who read it to grant everyone a clean slate
After all someone once did it for all of us
Shouldn't we all be thankful for His sacrifice?

Ablaze

The love I feel for him sets this heart of mine ablaze The love I feel for him feels like nothing I've ever felt I pray the fire our love started in my heart never dies Baby, may you always know I will love you till the end of time

I Miss

I miss the man who said he was my friend
I wish I had known what your definition of the word friend was, because nowhere in my definition of the word friend does it say you have the right to hurt me the way you did
I miss the man who said he would always be there for me
Where are you now?
Oh wait, I wish I had realized I didn't need you as much as I thought I did back then

Why did the man I miss I think it was it right to take everything I felt was sacred and turn it around to be used against me?
Yes, there are still times I miss you but more often than not there are times I miss me more

The woman I miss more than anything is going to take a minute to forgive you
Don't get me wrong I'm not doing this for you
I'm doing this because it's the only way I'm going to get the closure I really believe I deserve

In silhouette she stands at sunrise nearby the Ocean's Edge
Waves about to lap gently with a slow intensifying rhythmic roar at her feet
Her mind drifting to the possibilities guess I'm folding day might hold I wonder what today might hold for you

The Perfect Night

The stars are shining
The moon possesses a twinkle she's never seen before
 My God he is the picture of perfection.
She sins of a silent prayer of thank you
His eyes are the type she could find herself getting lost in
His scent is one that might etch itself in her memory

He makes her feel like she's the only woman in the world she saw something that day Something the perfect night I will never let either of them forget
The perfect night give birth to I love that will bond from now to Eternity

Quiet

You wait awhile then you ask me if I'm mad at you
Honestly, I'm not mad at you I'm just being quiet because I've got a lot on my mind
Trust me and has nothing to do with you
Why do you take everything so personal?
I don't ask her details you don't feel comfortable giving me so why do you do it to me?

Why are you so insecure?
There's no rule that says I have to talk to you about everything I'm going through
You know trust is a big issue with me, how do I know you'll keep when I tell you between the two of us?
Especially since you've revealed information I didn't want out there

If I'm quiet just give me a minute or two together my thoughts
I know you're there if I need to talk please just allow me to come to you when I feel it is right to do so

One handshake could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship

Two lives at a crossroads
Could this fateful meeting be the one act that changes both lives for the better?
So much hope for both of their futures
So many lessons for both people to learn
The beginning could change the world for everyone

The Weight Of The World

The weight of the world on his shoulders

He was weighed down heavily with the feeling of dread
Ashamed to bare the burden of
His shame so deep he can't admit his wrongs
He questions whether he will ever be able to get out from under the weight of the world
Will he ever be able to set himself free?

Warrior Status

She has weathered the storms of life

Using the lessons learned as an armor of protection
She's learned to leave her past behind never forgetting the strength she draws from
He Who is her Heavenly Father
Through prayer and holding steadfastly to her faith she has learned to wear her Warrior status proudly
Setting herself on the path to God's divine plan for her destiny

Majestic Beauty

From a distance your beauty makes you seem delicate

As an outsider looking in all we focus on is outward appearances

We seem to forget that you are a wild

Not meant to be teamed or held in captivity behind the fences and glass partitions

Instead your majestic beauty should be observed with us in the distance so as not to disturb you

In your natural environment where it's been predator versus prey since the beginning of time

Honeysuckle

The sweet smell of honeysuckle fills the air on a warm evening

As she and her lover decide to take a romantic stroll toward and memorable place to capture a moment that for them, will forever be frozen in time

For her though the smell of honeysuckle will forever bring her right back to this moment when a romantic memory she will keep sealed in her heart until forever fades took flight
She will always remember how vulnerable she let herself become with him in that moment
A vulnerability she thought she'd never have the opportunity to feel again

Door To Opportunities

None of us know what the future holds

Sometimes unbeknownst to us a door to opportunity will open that we can choose to walk through
I believe doors to opportunities come open to us according to God's plan

I've seen doors open for me
I believe in myself but
I also believe in the power of prayer so if you need a door to opportunity to open in your life
I say hit your knees and pray
Trust me prayer will get you where you need to be
