One Voice

Dear God

If you were me would you

have made the same choice I did?

You gave me a heart that wouldn’t let me sit back and

turn a blind eye or a deaf ear

 to something that could harm someone

 I’ve never gotten the chance to know

 

The choice I made might leave a

scar in my heart for a long time to come but

I’m a strong woman who now knows

Sometimes the right thing is

 the hardest thing you'll ever do, but

 in the end it's all worth it

I’m just one voice in a world of voices

that wonder if you can hear our prayers

through all of the earsplitting noise

this world can make

All I ask is that you protect those who

 rely on others for protection from harm
